Emir Balić for Balkan Rivers

Photographer Emir Balić comes from Zavidoviće, a small town located on three rivers (Bosna, Krivaja and Gostović). In addition to these rivers, there are many mountain streams that are still clean and drinkable. Emir, like most of his fellow citizens, grew up on those rivers that are now threatened with extinction. Emir says: “I am a three-time BiH junior runner-up in wild water kayaking, a registered skipper of rafting boats, a diver and a passionate fisherman. I could not imagine my life without rivers, so I stand by those who think the same in the hope that one day we will defeat the capitalists and leave our children with FREE RIVERS!” Find the full album HERE
